Hong Liu

Hong Liu is an established research fellow whose core research expertise centers on Sino-U.S. bilateral relations, Sino-Japanese diplomatic and societal ties, general international relations theory, comparative political systems, and modern global and Chinese diplomatic history. Her comprehensive academic training spans three tiered degree programs across prominent domestic and international higher education institutions. From 2003 to 2009, she conducted doctoral-level research at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University. Prior to her overseas doctoral candidacy, she completed a Master of Arts in International Studies at Peking University between 1999 and 2002. Earlier in her academic journey, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hunan Normal University during the 1992–1996 period.

Hong Liu boasts a diverse, multi-sector professional career spanning top think tanks, media outlets, and academic universities. Her current primary appointment is Research Fellow at the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), a leading independent global think tank headquartered in Beijing. She also serves as the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Exchanges at CCG. She has also undertaken research roles at the Research Institute of Western Returned Scholars Association. Beyond think tank research, she served within the News Center of China Central Television (CCTV). Her professional portfolio also features research appointments at Peking University, further enriching her interdisciplinary and policy research experience.
