Prof. Orhan Güvenen is a Turkish scholar specialized in strategic decision systems, information systems, econometrics and international economy. He is Founder and Director of the Institute of World Systems, Economies and Strategic Research, and Chairman of the Accounting Information Systems Department at the Bilkent University (Turkey). He is also Member of the Executive Board and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Strategy, Economy and Industry of the National Nanotechnology Research Center-UNAM of Bilkent University; Invited Professor at the University of Paris-Panthéon; and President of the International Association for Applied Econometrics.

Prof. Güvenen won inter-alia the "Transdisciplinary Distinguished Achievement Award" (2016), "Award for Great Achievers of the World – International Gusi Peace Prize" (2013); the "Turkish World Lifetime Achievement Award" (2012) and the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (1994).
